Freight forwarding is a service used by businesses that deal in international or multi-national import and export. A freight forwarder doesn’t move the goods itself but rather acts as an intermediary between the client and various transportation services.

Freight forwarders provide various services, including tracking inland transportation, preparing shipping and export documents, warehousing, negotiating freight charges, booking cargo space, freight consolidation, cargo insurance, and filing insurance claims.

A Bill of Lading is a legal document between the shipper of goods and the carrier. It details the type, quantity, and destination of the goods being carried and serves as a shipment receipt when the carrier delivers the goods at a predetermined destination.

Freight forwarders are transportation experts who have extensive knowledge and experience in dealing with the complexities of international trade, from customs regulations to the paperwork required for shipping goods. They can save you time, money, and the hassle of dealing with these complex tasks.

A freight broker is an individual or company that connects shippers with transportation services to move goods. Unlike freight forwarders, brokers don’t manage the shipping process – they simply connect shippers with carriers.

A freight forwarder will advise you on key elements of international shipping, such as import and export customs, to help you navigate complex regulations. Once you’ve provided the details about the goods, the freight forwarder will choose the best route and the best transport method for your shipment.

Typically, a freight forwarder will not pack your goods. They are responsible for arranging and coordinating the shipment of goods but not for the actual packing. It is generally the responsibility of the shipper to ensure goods are packed appropriately.

Freight charges are determined by several factors, including the nature of the goods, their size and weight, the distance between origin and destination, and the type of transport used.

Customization

You can ask for whatever is needed, and we will ensure that our freight forwarding software meets your needs. We can customize or change the invoice layout to your language, add documents for editing and printing, add custom fields to support special processes you might have, reorder, and remove fields on some screens, upload your customer list into the system, and create local forms.

Yes! Customization is free but limited to Business Package customers and a maximum of two work days. Economy Package customers can enjoy free customization only when related to the invoice layout.

We have simplified the process for you! You can enjoy a two-week trial period completely free of charge, giving you complete access to the Logitude service. Please ensure that you review all the necessary documents and forms. You can select from various layouts of the same document, allowing you to choose the one that suits your requirements best. Once you are ready, kindly provide us with a detailed list of any customizations you require. We will carefully review the list, inform you before your subscription begins if there are any associated costs, and provide an estimated timeframe.

It depends on the estimated effort of the requested customization. It could be a few days or several weeks. However, more complex tasks like creating new documents may require additional time.

During your trial period, we will satisfy several of your requests, but we kindly request you subscribe for more complex tasks. We trust that you understand the necessity for some level of commitment on your part.

In this case, we may request payment. If you provide us with the complete customization request in advance, we will inform you in advance if we can accommodate it within the free trial period. However, rest assured that our charges are only USD 650 per working day, so there’s no need to be concerned.

Sure you can, please feel free to share your request. We welcome customer feedback as it helps us improve the Logitude service. If your request has the potential to benefit all our users, we’ll consider implementing it at no cost. Please understand that we can’t guarantee a specific timeline for these types of requests, as it depends on our current development priorities. In some cases, where the request is highly specific to your needs, we may charge a fee for development.

You can customize several things with Logitude, such as creating personalized queries, designing email messages for customers or partners, uploading your company logo, and setting outgoing email signatures. However, certain tasks will require assistance from your distributor or the Logitude team.

Dashboard

No

Yes, this depends on the package and user role.

Yes, you have the option to create dashboards for quotes as well as Shipments, Containers, AR Invoices, AP Invoices, Customers, and Opportunities

Yes, within the digital portal, you can restrict access to your custom-designed dashboard, sharing it exclusively with your colleagues. If you prefer not to share it at all, that’s also possible. The digital portal gives you control over access permissions

Digital Portal

The Digital Portal is a customer portal, using it to create a shipment isn’t an option at the moment.

The Digital Portal is meant for the customer to view their data and the payables your cost so they should not be reflected to your customers.

Yes, with limited details than customers

Currently we don’t support this option.

The Digital portal will have the same views, we can assist in adding/ removing some fields.
Regarding reports, customers can download the report only without customizing it. However, the newly added fields will be directly added to the report.

First Class package users now have the option for their customers to accept or decline quotes directly within the digital portal. These updates will be reflected in a dedicated view within the quote module for our users.

No, the digital portal feature is part of Business and First class packages. You can invite all your customers to have access to their portals at no extra charge.

e-AWB

e-AWB is an IATA initiative to remove the paper AWB and replace it with electronic data.

No, you don’t. All you need is an Internet connection. This allows you to access your account from anywhere and at any time you desire. You can create AWBs, and send and receive messages using any computer within your reach. Simply log in to your account and begin your work.

Easy, start using Logitude e-AWB.

e-AWB package is designed to be a user-friendly wizard, that can be used to handle Air Export shipments. It also allows you to send FWB/FHL messages, and receive airlines’ status. It also enables you the ability to print MAWB, HAWB, and labels.

Absolutely! Please contact us at any time at info@logitudeworld.com and we will be happy to assist you to upgrade to our Economy or Business package.

We made Logitude super easy to use! We want you to be able to start using Logitude e-AWB right away. To help you get started quickly, we’ve created easy-to-follow videos and guides on the Getting Started page. These will show you the basics and advanced tips for opening and sending AWBs to airlines. But that’s not all! You’ll also have a personal account manager to walk you through the process with live Q&A sessions.

As part of your subscription, you will be required to purchase your initial AWB package. However, for testing purposes after completing the registration processes with the airlines, we provide five e-AWBs free of charge. These complimentary e-AWBs allow you to evaluate the system before committing to a purchase.

After subscribing, your account manager will introduce you to the Logitude Onboarding team in a meeting called the Kickoff meeting. During that call, the go-live date can be agreed upon between you, your account manager, and the onboarding specialist in charge.

During the free trial, you can simulate sending e-AWBs to airlines, but live transmissions are not allowed because of the registration process airlines have. However, you can still access and use all other Logitude features throughout the two-week trial.

Yes! We have a demo environment where you can try the service. You can even simulate transmissions to airlines. Please contact us at info@logitudeworld.com

Logitude e-AWB interfaces with the leading airline companies in the world! For the full list of airlines click here.

You are charged for each message sent to an airline. If you send both the MAWB and all the HAWBs, you will be charged for all of them. It is recommended to transmit HAWBs only when it helps you avoid airline fees.

AWB packages are shared among all users and last for 12 months. Unused AWB credits expire after this period. Larger packages have discounts, which lower the cost per AWB. You can buy more packages whenever you need them.

e-AWB involves a subscription fee and pay-per-use fees for transmitting AWBs to airlines. Existing Logitude Economy and Business customers have a free subscription and only pay for the AWBs sent to airlines. Non-Logitude customers can subscribe to the e-AWB package for USD 20 per user per month. By using the Logitude e-AWB package, you can save approximately USD 10 per AWB in airline fees.

By using our electronic system to create AWBs for both Master and House shipments, you can avoid paying certain airline fees. Here is how it works: – Print Your AWBs: You can print AWBs directly onto plain A4 paper. – Automatic Updates: The system will automatically send you updates from the airline. – Share Updates: Easily forward these updates to your customers. If you’re adding new users to the system, you’ll need to pay a fee for each user. These new users won’t have free access to the main system.

Yes, assuming you have signed an “e-AWB agreement” with the airlines. This contract is needed since the e-AWB replaces the paper AWB as a contract of carriage between the “shipper” (forwarder) and the airline.

Invoices and Payments

The invoice can be updated once it’s still on the draft status. Once the invoice is approved, you can’t edit it anymore. YOU need to void the invoice and issue a new one.

Yes, VAT can be managed inside Logitude. Once we set up your account, we will add the VAT percentage/s that you need.

Yes

Yes,

No, you can create them in Logitude and transfer them to your accounting software

Yes

No. Logitude supports operational accounting allowing you to manage payables/receivables related to your operations (Shipments).

Yes, if your accounting system is Odoo or QuickBooks, Logitude has integration with these two accounting software solutions. If your accounting system is something else, Logitude’s generic interface can be used to transfer your invoices/payments to your accounting software.

Yes, you can issue invoices in any currency you choose.

Your invoice can be customized to use your local language. For other documents, this could be subject to additional charges.

Yes, you can. Logitude allows you to record advance payments. Once you create or receive the corresponding invoices (sales invoices or purchase invoices), you will have the option to link the advance payments to the respective invoices.

No, you cannot reuse the same invoice number for security reasons. Once an invoice is voided, the next invoice will automatically be assigned the next sequential number. In cases where voiding is not an option, we recommend the following: ● If the entire invoice is incorrect (ex: invoiced the wrong customer), you should create an auto credit to cancel the invoice. ● If only the amount on the invoice is incorrect, you should create a credit note for the adjustment. By issuing credit notes, you maintain the integrity of your invoicing sequence and ensure compliance with accounting standards.

You can only link an invoice to a payment in the same currency or in your local accounting currency. However, we do not support linking a third foreign currency to an existing invoice with a different foreign currency. Instead, we recommend converting it based on the exchange rate externally and registering the payment in your local accounting currency.

You can choose to either refund this to your client directly using our new “Refund” option from the “More” button. This way you’ll register the remaining amount as a negative balance using a payable payment structure to offset the open amount. Another option would be based on your agreement with the client, if they prefer you keep the additional amount for a future business operation credit, you can link future invoices to this payment to cover the invoice amount fully or partially.

Pricing

Data Storage in Logitude saves all user-inputted information, like shipments, quotes, and customer details. Document Storage is where all externally uploaded files, like invoices and delivery proofs, are stored.

You have unlimited Data Storage in Logitude, which means you can create as many shipments or quotes as you need. However, Document Storage does have a limit. With the Logitude business package, each user gets 2 GB of storage. So, a company with 5 users, for example, would get a total of 10 GB for Document Storage.

The number of documents you can store depends on each document’s size. If we consider an average document to be about 200k in size, then 1 GB can store around 10,000 documents. Therefore, in a company with 5 users (which gets 10 GB of storage), you could potentially store about 50,000 documents.

Every extra GB of storage will add one dollar to your monthly cost. So, if a company with 5 users and 10 GB of storage needs an extra GB for Document Storage, their monthly subscription fee will increase by just one dollar.

You can upgrade or downgrade your service package at any time; upgrades go into effect immediately. Downgrading the service package takes effect at the end of the billing cycle.

Sure! You can cancel your subscription at any time and for any reason. We offer a two-week free trial plus a 30-day money-back guarantee for your first month of subscription.

The two-week free trial gives you complete access to our recommended Business Package. We’ll help you explore its many features, showing how they can save you time, and money, and boost your productivity. We aim to ensure you appreciate the system and its advantages. After the trial, you can continue with the Business Package or switch to the Economy package.

Quotes

Yes, we can create a specific automatic display for your charges based on the order you have requested.

Yes, it is a new feature in Logitude that allows to show more than one option in one quote.

Our “Tariffs” feature allows you to input prices, which can then be applied directly to your quote charges.

Yes

You can get the total of the quote in 2 currencies for now, the accounting and the profit currencies.

In Logitude, the quoting process is simple and efficient, allowing you to send a professional quote or offer to your customers. This reflects the high status and professionalism of your company. To make the quoting process faster: ● You can use the copy quote option. For instance, if you have a regular customer with only minor changes needed (such as prices or cargo details), you can copy an existing quote, update the necessary details, and have a new professional quote ready to send in minutes. ● The system allows you to predefine the email body with the attached quote. Once you fill in the required details (e.g., customer name, port of loading, port of discharge, charges, and other relevant information), the quote is ready to send. Additionally, once a quote is accepted/declined: ● You can immediately reuse the quote information (rates, partners, cargo details, etc.) to create a shipment with a single click. ● If a quote is declined, you can record the reason, analyze it, and keep a record of declined quotes to work on improving your services and customer satisfaction.

This can be done only if you have sale currency mode as “Same as cost currency”. Or we can add the same charge twice with different currencies—one for cost currency and the other in the sales currency.
